Emil Berliner is the stage name of Austrian musician Roland Gerger. Ever since he was a young child he has always been interested in sound in all its ranges and forms. This Austrian-American musician and sound designer, whose cultural background is Turkish, studied electroacoustics in Vienna, where he produced a diploma thesis on the sound phenomenon of Vienna as a city, and went on to develop a wide variety of sound concepts and installations, in addition to working as a musician all over Europe.
For Swarovski Crystal Worlds, he set himself the challenge of combining the sounds of crystal with the atmosphere of the setting to create entirely new sound collages that enhance the visitor experience on a sensory level – and ingeniously, but unobtrusively, he has succeeded.
