Tord Boontje's luminous fairytale landscape

Swarovski crystal and Christmas are inseparably linked, and the Dutch designer Tord Boontje is a master at creating fairytale-like worlds from crystal.

From November 7, 2018 until January 13, 2019 will again be numerous figures lighting up the extensive and artistically illuminated garden. The fabled Winter Wonderland again draws visitors into a festive atmosphere during the reflective Advent and Christmas season.

Winter pavilion

An eight-by-eight meter walk-in winter pavilion, composed of three domes, will surprise visitors with a specially illuminated, visually and acoustically immersive Winter Wonderland. Inside, a screen will show the animated film “The Winterstar”. Until  March, 31. 2019...

The Christmas tree at Swarovski Crystal Worlds is a long-standing tradition, especially the luminous gold “Crystal Star” from Tord Boontje that tops the tree at a height of over 10 meters. The tree is on display from November 7, 2018 and can be admired until January 13, 2019.

“The Christmas star sends out its light in all directions – just like crystal,” says designer Tord Boontje about his concept. “‘Light Touching’ symbolizes the light that touches all of us, creating a connection from one human being to the other.”
