Loop.pH have created a bespoke light artwork that is seamlessly integrated into the ceiling of the Swarovski Kristallwelten Store Vienna. A network of curved and reflective optical filters are combined with animated LEDs to create a stunning visual effect reminiscent of the reflections observed through moving water.
Loop.pH specialize in creating physical and material installations inspired by scientific study. For this installation they have recreated a caustic network from the field of optics.
Caustics are the light rays reflected and refracted by a curved object. They are projected each time a crystal interacts with light. Caustics are the ephemeral quality of crystals we all love but that is difficult to capture as it keeps moving and changing.
