In 2023, the Belvedere will celebrate the 300th anniversary of its construction. To celebrate this occasion, Swarovski Kristallwelten (Swarovski Crystal Worlds) is dedicating the exhibition area of its Vienna flagship store on Kärntner Straße 24 to the leitmotif of the jubilee, “Golden Spring,” with which the Belvedere illustrates two basic motifs of its history: gold for tradition, and the sacred spring (ver sacrum) for a new awakening.

 The art by Studio Mary Lennox at Swarovski Kristallwelten Store Wien is inspired by the symbolic connections of human and cultural experiences to the fundamental cycles of nature, seasons, evolution and origin. A crystalline model of the Upper Belvedere is the centerpiece of a hanging garden that seems almost like an island floating in space. The green landscape made of real moss is covered with crystal flowers from the Garden Tales collection by Swarovski. The roots dripping down from the floating landscape consist of handmade Swarovski crystal strands. 

“Golden Spring” is on display at Swarovski Kristallwelten Store Wien until the end of October 2023.
