The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Benefit, is the annual haute couture fundraising festival held for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in Manhattan. The Met Gala is popularly regarded as the world's most prestigious and glamorous fashion event. Fashion stars and models are able to express themselves by their fit according to the theme and social gathering. The event is known as "fashion's biggest night" and an invitation is highly sought after.
After the Met Gala of 2024, five stunning dresses were exhibited at the Swarovski flagship store in New York City. This exhibition showcased the intricate designs and craftsmanship that went into creating these masterpieces. The current installation brings these exquisite dresses back to the brand's homeland, Austria. They are now proudly displayed at Swarovski Kristallwelten Store Wien, allowing visitors to appreciate their beauty and the artistry involved in their creation.
The concept for these pieces was developed by Swarovski’s Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert, specifically for the Met Gala 2024. Her vision and creativity have been beautifully realized in these dresses, making them a highlight of the event and a testament to Swarovski's commitment to innovation and design.
