André Heller
Crystal Adorned Nana
Niki de Saint Phalle
The picturesque female figures belong to the most famous works by Niki de Saint Phalle: the »Nanas«. The example in the entrance hall places crystal at the focal point - as a phallic symbol within a playful intercourse between the gender roles.
Elapsing Time
Salvador Dalí
In Dalí´s most famous work, »The Persistence of Memory«, the artist expresses that time is not an absolute size or measure. The clock melts slowly, liquefies thus clarifying the preciousness of time in our lives.
Stele
Keith Haring
The cruciform stele adorned with black crystals was originally created for a premier celebration of Giuseppe Verdi´s opera »Aida« in the Temples of Luxor. The opera was first performed by Jessye Norman and Placido Domingo.
Crystal Wall
Swarovski
The Crystal Wall accompanies visitors along their path into the heart of the Giant. The sight of it is just as mesmerizing as its dimensions: it is 42 meters long, 11 meters high and filled with 12 tons of Swarovski cut crystals.
Stallion Ornament
Swarovski
The horse ornament is modelled on a present from an Indian maharajah to his son. It presents a fine example of the various ways in which crystal can be used. The original is bejewelled with precious gemstones.
A sparkling superlative
Swarovski
With 300,000 carats, the Centenar is the biggest cut crystal in the world. One hundred precisely-cut facets symbolize the Swarovski company´s one hundred years in existence in 1995. The Centenar is the antithesis of the smallest cut crystal that despite its size of only 0.8 millimetres, still boasts 17 facets each cut with the utmost precision.
