Music in the Giant 2007

09.02.2007 Swarovski Kristallwelten Wattens

The program of “Music in the Giant 2007” is marked by grand masters, young visionaries and the exploration of strange artistic worlds. The fourth festival of chamber music and literature takes place from the 2nd to the 6th May 2007, and draws attention to the land of music, Great Britain, and its young scene of interpreters. Further highlights of the festival are a solo concert of the famous Austrian pianist Alfred Brendel, and readings by Bruno Ganz and the Ukrainian-Russian author Andrej Kurkow.

From its beginnings, the festival “Music in the Giant“ has undertaken the task to draw those primary forces of the musical scene towards the centre of attention, which are of substantial importance for the progress of cultural thought and creation. These might be individual artists like Juliane Banse or Pierre-Laurent Aimard, who are pioneering in their open idea of culture and thus enable above all much innovation – or certain regions, where new pathways of artistic expression are found. With “Music in the Giant 2007“, both aspects meet in a highly productive fashion: the musical country Great Britain – which is introduced in four concerts of the festival – and two of the most acclaimed personalities of the music- and literature scene, the Austrian pianist Alfred Brendel and the Swiss actor Bruno Ganz.
