Matta Wagnest

Since the middle of the 1990s Matta Wagnest has occupied herself with glass. In ever-new constellations, spatial structures are created, in which the visitor can submerge, without, however, locating a spatial boundary. ‘Ford Crystal Blue‘ (2001) consists of two parallel glass areas on a water-basin in the Swarovski Kristallwelten in Tyrol. It concerns a sort of module system, which allows itself to be carried on infinitely.

Here the experience of artistic materiality is just as important as exceeding an actual material boundary, which widens the scope for further thinking processes.
