Ingeborg Lüscher was born in 1936 in Freiberg, Saxony. She studied acting and psychology and then, self-taught, turned to the visual arts.
Her conceptional works tackle life´s fundamental issues. Collecting, documenting, examining material and experimentation introduced the artist to more and more new work groups, reflecting life as it is lived and the experiences undergone.
Ingeborg Lüscher´s works have been shown at various Biennales, frequently at documenta as well as at numerous solo exhibitions worldwide. She created her own “Bernsteinzimmer” (Amber Room) at Swarovski Crystal Worlds during the exhibition cycle “Verzauberung auf Zeit” (Temporary Enchantment) by Harald Szeemann. It was on display from 2004 until 2007.
