Hans M. Enzensberger

Hans Magnus Enzensberger was born on 11.12.1929 in Kaufbeuren. He began to write shortly after the Second World War in 1945. But even before he actually established himself as a writer he studied literature, languages and philosophy and graduated in 1955. After working for two years as a radio editor, Enzensberger travelled to the United States and Mexico and published his first volume of poems »Verteidigung der Wölfe« [Defense of the Wolves]. The winner of numerous prizes, Enzensberger is a literary giant who has again and again enriched and renewed the contemporary German literary scene.
