Music in the Giant
Music Festival in the Crystal Worlds
The concert series of Music in the Giant remains a special favourite. The increasing number of visitors led to a decision in 2004 to stage the individual programmes in the entrance hall. These will now be integrated into a main performance concept. In future, chamber music evenings with renowned soloists and ensembles will take place at regular intervals, either in the cosy atmosphere of the blue entrance hall, or in theirown concert area due for completion in May 2008. Among the highlights of the programmes conducted so far are performances by the Alban Berg Quartet, Hilliard Ensembles and Pierre Laurent Aimards, or of the Nobel Prize winner Imre Kertesz. Wladimir Kaminer’s reading, conducted in March 2007 where he entertained his audience with amusing anecdotes from his book “Russendisko” (“Russian Disco”), was proof enough that the Giant’s chambers were a venue for a wide range of entertainment.
